We are proud of Mansfield Municipal Airport. Anyone who wants a tour of the airport needs to give us a call for more info. We run tours from late April until the middle of October.

KING continues to move forward to providing our customers with the very best in flight training services. October 2003, we were selected to become a Cessna Pilot Center. Aligning KING with Cessna Aircraft provides us with newer equipment( three brand new Cessna 172s) new computer based learning tools and the backing Cessna Aircraft, one of the most respected aircraft companies in our 100 year aviation history.

KING and Cape Air are working together to provide pilots additional training to help them prepare for the pilot ground schools that Cape Air requires. KING is responsible to provide training in our PC based simulator and flight training in our Multi-engine aircraft.

KING Aviation Mansfield, a Cessna Pilot Center and Mountain State University of Bentley West Virginia have partnered to offer degree programs to KING students who wish to complete a degree in aviation. Each rating that the student obtains here at KING give the student(who is enrolled in the program credits toward the degree.

Our new tiedown area with two new taxiways, access road and security has been completed. The contractor was Steven Ando Paul of West Bridgewater. This $1.2 million project was completed after eight years and was paid with Federal, State and local funds.
This will now allow us to keep the twenty aircraft off the grass!

KING Aviation Mansfield and Fox 25 Taped a segment for the national "Be A Pilot" program. Fox 25's meteorologist AJ Burnett strapped in and took his first flight lesson. With cameras rolling and CFI Mike DiFalco providing the instruction, AJ flew one of the new Skyhawks. He described the flight as exciting.

Len stopped by in October and said he wanted to learn to fly. He soloed on a beautiful December Day. Congratulations!

Dave attended the annual Cessna Pilot Center Seminar in Tampa Fl last month. The seminar brings CPC flight schools from around the country together for two days of refresher training, marketing strategies and program updates.
One of the featured speakers was John and Martha King, co-founders of King Schools based in San Diego, CA. Dave had lunch with them and said they are wonderful people.

Dave was Named Airport Manager of the Year by the FAA BOS for 2005. A licensed Airport Manager in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts since 1988 has been the manager of the Mansfield Municipal Airport Since 1991.

Doug did a great job on his Private Pilot Licence. Whats' next? Instrument Rating?

Matt got bit by the flying bug and was a fixture here at the airport this summer. The real competition though was between Matt and his dad, Jack. Jack is working on his instrument rating, working fulltime, and raising a family. Matt flew all summer, worked on his tan and prepared for college. Guess who won?

The Deutsche Bank Championship brought out the biggest stars for the annual Pro-Am. Donald Trump flew in from New York City to play.

Another great father - son learning to fly story. Recently, Chris Jr. received his private pilot license. Three years ago, his father, Chris received his private pilot's license. Both father and son kept flying in the family following Chris senior's father, Jake who learned to fly here in the 1940s when the Navy trained pilots to fly. Chris had his whole family here as he passed his practical test.

The Mansfield Air Race Classic in collaboration with The Town of Mansfield would like to cordially invite you to our Kick-Off Celebration for the Air Race Classic which will terminate in Mansfield, MA in June of 2008.
Our kick-off celebration will be on Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at 5:30 P.M. Please join us at the Tournament
Players Club House, 400 Arnold Palmer Boulevard, Norton, MA at the PGA, which will be the location of the 2007 Deutsche Bank Championship. Come feel the magic and walk the halls where some World-class golfers have played.
Our special guest speaker will be the International President of the Air Race Classic Vicki Hunt. We also will have a few words from our State Representative Jay Barrows and Town Manager John DAgostino. The Air Race Classic is a worldwide organization that sponsors the annual 2,400 nautical mile journey of the all woman air race. The race takes place over 4 days and the final destination for the race in 2008 will be our own Mansfield Municipal Airport.
The Air Race Classic is the only all woman transcontinental air race. This flight will represent 79 years of women in flight. The 2008 competition will mark the second time in 30 years that the race has had its terminus in Massachusetts, the first being Hyannis. Over 100 woman pilots will begin their journey, leaving from a yet determined location in the mid-west on June 24th in 50 various style aircrafts and ending their journey in Mansfield beginning on June 26 th .
With over 2000+ spectators as well as the media we expect to generate between $350,000 to $1,000,000.00 dollars in economic stimulus for our local and state economy. We would like to give these dauntless women aviators a big Massachusetts welcome and showcase the Mansfield area.
The Air Race classic is a non-profit organization (501 (c) 3), which means all contributions are tax deductible.
With this in mind, we are offering many options for our sponsors and advertisers, some of which will include advertising on a national level, local media and a spot on the website.

For the 4th straight year, KING Aviation along with a bunch of volunteers spent 4 days and showed the airport and the airplanes to 400 Mansfield 4th graders.
We had a great time with the kids. We would like to thank our volunteers for their help!

The Mansfield Air Race Classic committee has organized a 40s style dance completed with 6 piece swing band with a singer. We have food, non alcoholic drinks, raffles and prizes for best 40s costumes.

Mansfield airport got back into the FAA's safety program in a big way, we built a building so we could hold these important events. The FAA awarded KING Aviation Mansfield with a Safety Award at their annual banquet held in May.
