I got involved in aviation thanks to my dad. In 1979, dad and his friends bought a tired FBO at the Taunton Municipal Airport. They kept the original name of the business that had been started by the KING family of East Taunton, MA. As a kid, I did odd jobs around the airport. After college, dad needed help and said come and work at KING it will be great! We can work together. I thought Ok, an easy management job, however, my dad wanted me to respect the business and understand it.
My career started as a line rep, fueling, maintaining, washing aircraft. As time went on, I began to work on the management side of the business. 1988, I passed my Massachusetts Airport Manager's test and became the youngest Airport Manager in the state.
1991, KING had an opportunity to expand and we came to Mansfield. My sister Kelley joined up and we decided to make a difference in General Aviation. We wanted to create a place where people could come see a friendly face and have great service.
Today, 22 years later, I have a tremendous respect and love for aviation. It is in my blood and I want to share it with anyone who will listen.
